Erica picked up her first golf club at the age of five, and has been hitting the links ever since. With the gentle guidance and coaching of her father Mel, Erica quickly made a name for herself in the golfing world and became a professional in June of 2004. Before she took on professional status, Erica was a standout on the American Junior Golf Association circuit and garnered numerous awards and accomplishments. She was a three-time first-team Polo All-American, was a member of the 2002 Canon Cup and winner of the 2002 Rolex Tournament of Champions. Blasberg has also competed in five U.S. Women's Amateur Championships and was a quarterfinalist in 2003. When it came time to choose a college to attend and play golf for, Erica decided to be a part of the strong University of Arizona women's golf team. She continued to excel in the college ranks and was a two-time All-American, 2003 NCAA Freshman of the Year, 2003 Pac-10 Player of the Year, and recorded six tournament wins for the Wildcats. In 2003, Blasberg carded a 64, her lowest in amateur competition, during the second round of the Welch's/Fry's Championship and tied for 49th. Erica began her professional career in 2004 on the Futures Tour and nailed down four top-10 results in eight events, which included a victory at the Lacona Savings Bank Futures Golf Classic. She qualified for the LPGA Tour on her first try. On the LPGA tour, she carded a career-low 68 in the second round of the Office Depot Championship at Trump National Golf Club in Los Angeles and also won a Mercury Mariner with a hole-in-one during the third round of the Sybase Classic. She enjoys running, reading magazines and shopping
